Fun Friday Golden Time!

Our lessons have been a load of old rubbish! Here we are, sorting through a pile of rubbish and putting them into different groups of materials. We have been learning about the 'properties' of materials and know lots of different words, like 'transparent', 'smooth', 'rough', lots of words that describe each material.

We went on a material search around the school to find uses for every day materials....

...This is us finding and recording the different materials that we spotted.

Heather came in to the classroom to give us a talk about how Luckwell does its' recycling. We buy lots of recycled products, like toilet roll and paper. All of or fruit waste becomes compost. The compost bin was pretty stinky!!!

In Number work, we have been using money to do addition and subtraction number sentences, or sums. We have been shopping in our groups and now know how to count and look after our pocket money!

Here we are toy shopping with our partners...

...Here we are ink - stamping with pennies and making repeating patterns.

This group took it in turns to shop in the cafe and had to pay for their dinner before they gobbled it down.

Next week, we are really looking forward to a trip to PlaySpace and making out own recycled paper.
