Creating new worlds

Today we had a sad day because we had to say goodbye to Miss Fricker. We are really going to miss her great teaching.
On Monday and Tuesday we practised our doubles facts. This is a group doing some doubles jigsaws.
On Wednesday we read the Christian creation story. Then we worked in groups to retell the story. Each person had to do a picture to show what God made on that day.
On Thursday it was our turn to be God and create our own worlds. We chose what we would and wouldn't put in our world.

Animals

Firstly Y1 have had a sad day today because it was Oskar's last day. We will all miss him and hope he enjoys life in Canada. Oskar got to choose our activities for planning time and we all enjoyed that this afternoon.
This week we did lots of animal science. This is a group sorting some animals into groups. Some of us sorted animals into a group with legs and a group without legs.
This is a group painting the clay snake pots we made last week. We had great fun doing this.

Happy New Year

Miss Linton says Happy New Year everyone and a big thank you for all my Christmas presents, they were all very much appreciated.
This is Miss Fricker teaching us how to do joined up handwriting. Some of us found it easy, some of us found it really tricky. This group are making snake pots out of clay. We had to roll out the clay, we got really messy hands. Miss Linton got the idea from Mister Maker!! Next week we are going to paint them.
This group are playing in the jungle explorers role play area. We have brought in lots of things to use like magnifing glasses, maps and globes, binoculars and an Indiana Jones hat!! Everyone wants to go in there it is really fun.

These children are painting a picture of their favourite animals in their habitats. They will be up on the wall soon along with a caption we wrote in Literacy.
